About the stadium
Opened in 2010 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, replacing the original Giants Stadium on the same Meadowlands Sports Complex site. It is unique in the NFL as the only stadium serving two franchises as their primary home — the New York Giants and the New York Jets. Permanent capacity is around 82,500, the largest in the NFL. The venue hosted Super Bowl XLVIII (2014), the first Super Bowl played in an outdoor cold-weather climate, and the final of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. At the 2026 World Cup it stages eight matches: five group games, a Round of 32, a Round of 16, and the final on July 19. It operates as New York New Jersey Stadium during the tournament.
