About the stadium
Opened in 2002 in downtown Seattle on the site of the demolished Kingdome. Home to the Seattle Seahawks (NFL) and the Seattle Sounders (MLS). Permanent capacity is around 69,000. Two curved roof wings cover roughly 70 percent of the seats and reflect crowd noise back onto the field, which helped the venue set a then-record outdoor crowd noise mark of 137.6 dB during a Seahawks game in 2013. The Sounders routinely draw more than 60,000 supporters for MLS games. The stadium has staged Concacaf Gold Cup matches and games at Copa America Centenario. At the 2026 World Cup it hosts six matches: four group games, a Round of 32, and a Round of 16. It operates as Seattle Stadium during the tournament.
