About the stadium
Opened in 2007 at the Exhibition Place fairground on the Lake Ontario shore — Canada's first stadium built specifically for soccer. Home to Toronto FC (MLS) and the Canada men's national team. Permanent capacity is 30,000. Ahead of the 2026 World Cup it was expanded with temporary north and south stands to 45,000 seats, in a renovation that cost CAD 158 million and was completed in early 2026. The venue hosted the 2017 MLS Cup final, which Toronto FC won for the club's only league title, along with Concacaf Gold Cup and Canadian Premier League matches. At the 2026 World Cup it stages six matches, including Canada's opener on June 12: five group games and a Round of 32 tie. It operates as Toronto Stadium during the tournament.
