About the stadium
Built between 2011 and 2015 in Guadalupe, a suburb of Monterrey. Home of CF Monterrey (Rayados, Liga MX) since opening. The venue is nicknamed "El Gigante de Acero" ("The Steel Giant") after its exposed steel facade. Permanent capacity is around 53,500. The north stand opens onto a direct view of Cerro de la Silla, the saddle-shaped mountain that defines Monterrey's skyline. The stadium hosted the second leg of the 2017 Copa Libertadores final and matches at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. At the 2026 World Cup it stages four matches: three group games and a Round of 32 tie. It is the northernmost Mexican venue at the tournament and the only one not hosting a home-nation game. It operates as Estadio Monterrey during the tournament.
