About the stadium
Opened in 2017 on the site of the demolished Georgia Dome. Home to the Atlanta Falcons (NFL) and Atlanta United (MLS). Its signature feature is a retractable roof built from eight translucent, triangular petals that slide open in a camera-aperture pattern; the full cycle takes under eight minutes. The venue hosted Super Bowl LIII (February 2019, Patriots vs Rams) and the 2018 MLS Cup final. At the 2026 World Cup it stages eight matches: five group games, a Round of 32, a Round of 16, and a semifinal on July 15. During the tournament it operates under the neutral name Atlanta Stadium per FIFA rules.
